Traditional Skincare: Crafting with Tallow

Before petroleum-based lotions and synthetic stabilizers, our ancestors crafted deeply nourishing skincare from whole, natural ingredients. Tallow—rich in skin-loving fats—was a staple in traditional ointments, healing balms, and soap-making.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore:
✨ How to render and purify tallow for a smooth, odorless balm
✨ The basics of tallow soap-making
✨ How to blend tallow with infused herbal oils for a deeply healing, custom balm

Tallow is biologically similar to human sebum, meaning it:
✅ Absorbs easily without clogging pores
✅ Provides deep, long-lasting moisture
✅ Contains essential fatty acids (omega-3, 6, 7, and 9)
✅ Is rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, which promote skin regeneration
✅ Has natural antimicrobial properties

Unlike modern lotions filled with synthetic stabilizers, tallow is a pure, whole-fat skincare ingredient that our ancestors relied on for generations.

Join us to reconnect with time-honored skincare traditions and create your own tallow balm and soap.
