Natural Paint & Ink Workshop

  • 16 Hankins Road Sussex, NJ, 07461 United States (map)

Join Sasha Botanica and Dan de Lion for a collaborative workshop harvesting wild plants for paint and art supplies. We will begin the day with a plant gather to harvest dandelion flowers and a rare special blood root, and help with identification aspects to identify your own paints. These plant parts will be utilized to show you how to make ink, dyes, and paints with plants that surround us!

We will also show you how to create plant based inks from natural dyes including elderberry, charcoal, acorn, and black walnut.

During this workshop, students will learn the basics of natural ink making, leaving you equipped with the skills and knowledge to create your own inks at home that are biodegradable and non toxic! Safe for children! Dan will also be sharing ways to utilize sticks and animal hair to make your own paint brushes.

No painting experience needed! To join, please email Dan@returntonature.us or to rsvp and please help spread the word!

Students will go home with their own jar of paint that we create that day.

We will also will have wildcrafted and handmade paints available for people to take home at a donation, and lots of crafts and herbal preparations available to check out after class.
