Forage & Natural Dye Workshop - Mulberry
Join Jackie and I for a collaborative forage & natural dye workshop about Mulberry! We will forage for Mulberry and you will learn the basics of how to dye with it - you will go home with your own naturally dyed 35”x35” Silk Scarf. We will also make some tasty treats like Mulberry Mint Agua Fresca and something yummy and baked but I havent figured it out yet hehe
Hydrosol Workshop - Chamomile
In this workshop you will learn the basics of working a copper still to make hydrosols. We will be distilling fresh, locally grown Chamomile to create your own Chamomile Hydrosol. Utilize this hydrosol to make your own unique blends of herbal creams, soaps, etc…
This workshop will be held at Sasha’s house in Wallkill, NY. Sasha will provide some snacks and tea but feel free to bring whatever you’d like to contribute! There is a pool on the property if you’d like to swim at any point during the workshop :)
Natural Paint & Ink Workshop
Join Sasha Botanica and Dan de Lion for a collaborative workshop harvesting wild plants for paint and art supplies. We will begin the day with a plant gather to harvest dandelion flowers and help with identification aspects to identify your own paints. These plant parts will be utilized to show you how to make ink, dyes, and paints with plants that surround us! We will also show you how to create plant based inks from natural dyes including elderberry, charcoal, acorn, and black walnut. During this workshop, students will learn the basics of natural ink making, leaving you equipped with the skills and knowledge to create your own inks at home that are biodegradable and non toxic! Safe for children!
